Founded in 2011 by Stephen Janes, The Bicycle Thrift Shop is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located at 49 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, NC. The shop refurbishes donated bikes, parts, and gear, selling them at below-market prices; proceeds fund youth cycling programs, greenway advocacy, and trail initiatives across Western NC. The shop does not offer repairs or tune-ups, instead partnering with local bike shops to avoid competition.
