Sunnyside Sports opened in 1972 as Sunnyside Touring on Irving Avenue in Bend, Oregon, founded by Jim DeSmet and Gary Fowles. The shop moved to its current Newport Avenue location in 1990 and has grown to carry Trek, Cervelo, Yeti, Surly, Electra, 45NRTH, Teravail, and Shimano/SRAM components across road, mountain, gravel, and commuter bikes. Beyond retail, Sunnyside offers bike service and repairs with reservations, a rental fleet for mountain, road, gravel, and e-bikes, and maintains deep ties to Central Oregon cycling culture through the Cascade Cycling Classic and Tour des Chutes fundraiser.
