Founded by bike messenger Jimmy Lizama, Relampago Wheelery operates in Koreatown, Los Angeles as a hub for urban mobility advocacy and bicycle craft. The shop specializes in dynamo hub installation and hand-built wheel construction, offers tune-ups and custom builds, and runs Re:Ciclos, a youth education program that teaches mechanics and fabrication through recycled-bike projects. Lizama has been central to L.A.'s car-free cycling culture for over 20 years and co-founded The Bicycle Kitchen; the shop does not stock new bikes but builds up frames to order and maintains a used-parts inventory.
