Paul's Bicycle Way of Life opened in Eugene on March 1, 1985, after founder Paul Nicholson moved from Illinois, where he began the business in 1977. The shop now operates two full-service locations (Downtown at 556 Charnelton St. and Alder at 2480 Alder St.) and carries Trek, Surly, 45NRTH, Electra, SRAM, Shimano, Radio Flyer, and Teravail. The shop emphasizes long-term staff retention, free repair estimates, e-bike rentals, and a founding philosophy of proper bike fitting and comfort: a practice Paul Nicholson pioneered before it became standard industry practice.
