Question 1

Does Outer Rim Bicycles require an appointment, or can customers walk in?

Accepted Answer

Outer Rim Bicycles operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so no appointment is necessary. Customers are welcome to drop by during shop hours at their convenience.

Question 2

Can Outer Rim Bicycles provide repair cost estimates over the phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the shop strongly encourages test-rides so customers can find a bike that matches their specific needs and expectations.

Question 4

What is the history behind Outer Rim Bicycles?

Accepted Answer

Outer Rim Bicycles was founded in 2007 by Nadine Jones, who opened the shop in NE Portland with a philosophy centered on kindness and community. After Jones passed away in 2013, the shop's current team continues her legacy of compassion and has since expanded to include a location in Ridgefield, Washington.

Accepted Answer

The shop provides soft checks, full tune-ups, complete overhauls, bike assembly, brake adjustments, and tube changes. Mechanics at Outer Rim Bicycles are described as specialized in diagnostic and repair work across all bike types.
