Outdoors, Inc. was founded in 1974 by Joe Royer and Lawrence Migliara, who merged two paddling businesses (West Tennessee White Water Supply and South Central Canoe Base) in Memphis, TN. Cycling was added to the product line in the early 1980s, following the shop's expansion into climbing, camping, and ski equipment. The shop operates 4 retail locations and hosts the Outdoors Inc. Cyclocross Championship, now in its third year and described as the longest-running cyclocross race in the nation. It is the only ski and snowboard retailer in West Tennessee and continues to sponsor racing and outdoor events.
