Nicollet Bike and Ski has served the Greater Mankato cycling community since 1971, originally located 3 miles south of Nicollet before owners Justin and Jenna Rinehart relocated it downtown in 2011. In 2019, the shop merged with Flying Penguin Outdoor Sports to add skiing and snowsports. The shop carries Specialized, Giant, Liv, Salsa, Surly, 45NRTH, Rad-Power, Teravail, and Shimano/SRAM components, and offers bike fitting, maintenance, rentals, and both new and used inventory. Nicollet is active in local events and clubs, sponsoring the Mankato High School Mountain Bike Team, MAMB (Mankato Area Mountain Bikers), and clinics including GEARS and Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day.
