Neighborhood Bike Works, founded in 1996 in Philadelphia, is a nonprofit organization centered on youth bike education and repair skills. The shop operates two programs: youth classes teaching bike repair and offering Earn-A-Bike opportunities, and Mel's Community Bike Shop, which provides DIY repair access and sells refurbished bikes and used parts to adults.
