About
Family-owned since its founding by John Nemjo, Mountain Man Outdoor Center was taken over by Britta and Devlin Hennessy in 2023 and operates as the Adirondacks' largest canoe, kayak, and SUP dealer with over 1,000 boats in stock and over 20 paddling brands. Located on the Moose River shoreline in Old Forge, NY, the property includes a boat shop, rental facility, and (as of 2025) a bike shop selling, renting, tuning, and repairing e-bikes and mountain bikes. The adjacent gear store stocks over 4,000 square feet of outdoor apparel, footwear, camping supplies, and paddling accessories, all grounded in the shop's decades-long commitment to educating customers and supporting environmental conservation in the Adirondacks and beyond.
