About
Iowa City Bike Library operates as a nonprofit community bike shop where bicycles are checked out like library books, bought as-is, or rented for repair access via $5/hour bench rental. The shop hosts weekly group rides (Friday Night Ride, Saturday Stay Cozy), youth programs (OutSpoken Teens, Youth Bike Initiatives), and community events (Bike-in Beats, Farm Cycle, Witches Take Flight), with a stated mission to get more people on bicycles and empower cycling as primary transportation. Programs include Cycling Without Age and Mujeres en Bici, reflecting an equity-centered approach to accessibility and inclusion.
