Great Northern Cycle & Ski was founded in the Flathead Valley as a hub for alpine skis and performance-level mountain and road bikes. In 2016, employees Willie and Stella Hobbs took over and expanded the shop, doubling its footprint in 2019. The shop carries Specialized, Yeti, Surly, 45NRTH, and Teravail alongside SRAM and Shimano components. Its service department employs United Bicycle Institute-certified mechanics offering bike and ski tuning year-round, paired with an espresso bar and patio in downtown Whitefish.
