Elgin Community Bikes is a non-profit founded in 2016 that uses group cycling to build neighborhood connections and advocate for safer streets in Elgin, Illinois. Beginning as a transportation-education blog, the organization launched its signature Full Moon Ride in June 2017 and has since expanded to host community rides citywide. Founder Parker Thompson, a United Bicycle Institute: certified mechanic, manages a community shop alongside education programs and advocacy work focused on mobility justice and equitable access to bicycles.
