Founded in 2009 by Tom Bisel as 'Fit to be Tri'd' in downtown Northfield, MN, Downtown Bicycles evolved from a triathlon-focused store into a full-service shop after moving to the old Tiny's building in 2011 and officially rebranding in 2015. The shop carries Trek, Cannondale, and Electra new bikes, plus used and kids' bikes, and emphasizes matching customers to bikes that suit their needs and riding style. In 2025, a second location opened in Lakeville, MN. The repair shop offers flat-tire fixes on-site and handles more complex maintenance with timely turnaround; the shop also stocks quality accessories sourced beyond big-box retailers.
