Dan's Bike Shop has operated in Ionia since the early 1940s, first as Vern's under Vern Vos, then passing to his son Dan in the 1970s, and to current owner Gary Ferguson and his family around 2000. The shop carries Aventon, Electra, Rad Power, Trek, and component brands Shimano, SRAM, and Teravail, stocking new and used bikes, parts, and accessories. It functions as a local hub for cycling information and trail access, selling detailed printed maps of the Fred Meijer trail network, Ionia area, and State Recreation Area to help riders plan routes through regional gravel roads, mountain bike trails, and rail-trails.
