Founded in 1972 in Clearwater, Chainwheel Drive opened with 12 bicycles in an 800 sq ft storefront and expanded to a second Palm Harbor location in 1985 to serve northern Pinellas County. The shop carries Specialized, Cannondale, Cervelo, Electra, and Fuji across road, gravel, mountain, hybrid, e-bike, and kids' categories. Chainwheel employs certified fitting technicians and maintains a service department for assembly and repair; it has supported local cycling clubs, races, and rides across road racing, triathlon, mountain biking, touring, and BMX since its founding.
