Founded in 1991 by Dan Negley, Breakaway Cycling is one of central Ohio's oldest bicycle shops, located in historic downtown Delaware. The shop carries Trek as a primary partner (Trek partner dealer), along with Aventon, Electra, PedeGo, Rad Power, and component brands Shimano, SRAM, and Teravail. It stocks road, gravel, hybrid/fitness, mountain, children's, and used bikes, with services including general repairs, tune-ups (Basic $99.99, Deluxe $149.99, Complete Overhaul $279.99), rentals, trade-ins, and 48-hour turnaround in most cases. The founder has been a daily bicycle commuter for over 30 years, served on local bike advocacy committees, and was instrumental in building the original Alum Creek State Park mountain bike trail; the shop hosts community bike rides and events.
