Bike New London is a 501(c)3 nonprofit formed in 2009 to make New London more bicycle-friendly. Beginning with advocacy, helmets, and a bike-share system, the organization opened a Community Bicycle Shop in 2014 through a partnership with New London Main Street and the Ledge Light Health District. Since relocating to Hodges Square in March 2019, the all-volunteer staff performs repairs ranging from minor adjustments to full restorations on bicycles of all types, and sells refurbished bikes at reasonable prices. One hundred percent of sales revenue supports the shop's mission to serve all members of the New London community regardless of income.
