Bernie's Bicycle Center opened in 1948 on Paul Avenue in Trenton, New Jersey, and relocated to Mercerville in 1964. Founded by Bernie and Rose Knapp, the shop was one of only two Schwinn concept stores in the United States at the time. Current owner Eli Rivera has continued the family-first approach established by original owners and Tim Cannon (owner for 40 years). The shop carries Fuji, Giant, Pinarello, and Salsa bikes, and offers professional bike fitting to optimize comfort and efficiency. Bernie's is a supporter of regional cycling events including the Black Tie Tour for cancer awareness and the Bike MS City to Shore ride.
