Beach Bike Shop began in 1986 as a Western Auto store selling Western Flyer bicycles alongside auto parts. In 1990, it separated into a dedicated bicycle business to carry named-brand bikes that manufacturers preferred not to sell through auto retailers. Renamed Beach Bike Shop in 2013, it expanded to occupy both buildings on Broadway Street (7,000 sq ft total) and is now the largest bike shop in the area. It carries Giant, Marin, Santa Cruz, Look, Specialized, Haro, Tuesday Cycles, Biria, and Sun bikes, along with Kuat vehicle racks and parts for all bike types. The shop hosts group rides, rents cruisers and hybrids, provides full-service repairs for all brands, and has supported local law enforcement and emergency services with bicycles for over 30 years.
